Which question type should you use when?
Thirteen question types, each with its own strength. How to pick the right format for knowledge, opinions, ideas and explanations.

13 question types, plus slides
Test knowledge with points, gauge opinions without right or wrong, or let the group come up with ideas together. Mix them freely in one quiz.
Right or wrong, with points. The faster you're right, the more you score (except in Accuracy).
Players tap one of 2 to 6 tiles. You can also mark several answers as correct.
How it counts: Speed points. With several correct answers you score per correct pick; one wrong pick means 0.
Is the statement true or not? Two tiles, one tap.
How it counts: Speed points for the right answer.
Players type the answer themselves. You enter 1 to 4 accepted answers.
How it counts: Capitals, spaces and punctuation don't matter. Spelled slightly differently? Approve it afterwards.
Players put 3 or 4 pieces in the right order.
How it counts: Only fully correct counts, with speed points.
Players slide to a number on a scale, with a unit if you like.
How it counts: Within the margin you choose: points for how close (80%) and how fast (20%).
Players drop a pin on an image or map.
How it counts: Correct if the pin lands in the area you draw: rectangle, ellipse or polygon.
No right or wrong and no points. The screen shows what the group thinks.
Players pick one or more tiles.
How it counts: The screen shows how the votes are split.
Players send in a short answer.
How it counts: Words that come up more often grow bigger in the cloud.
Players write a free answer of up to 250 characters.
How it counts: All answers appear on a wall.
Everyone drops a pin on an image.
How it counts: All pins together on screen, so you see where the group lands. You can hide them too.
Players pick a value on a scale, for example from disagree to agree.
How it counts: You see the spread and the average.
How likely is it that…? Players pick 0 to 10.
How it counts: You see detractors, passives and promoters, plus the NPS score.
Collect ideas, group them and vote on them.
Players send in 1 to 5 ideas. You group them by dragging, then everyone votes.
How it counts: Nobody can vote for their own idea. The top 3 earn points for whoever came up with them.
A slide for an explanation, a new round or a break.
A title, text, image or video, without answers.
How it counts: Doesn't count towards the score.
